Caramel Custard Puding


Caramel Custard Puding is a very popular dessert in Malaysia. First introduced by the Portuguese,
 this dessert is a popular favorite served in restaurants, cafes, hotels and even Ramadan bazaars for breaking the fast.

today i present to you my Caramel Custard Puding is an all-time Favorited for me and my family.

Makes 4-6 servings




For the topping




1/2 cup + 2 tbsp (120g) sugar

For the custard

I use 2 type of milk




1 cup evaporated milk




1 1/2 cup fresh milk 




1/4 cup (50 g) sugar




1 vanilla bean



3 eggs


1/2 tsp corn starch 

Heat the oven to 325°F/160°C


Let get start with the topping




Heat the 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. (120 g) sugar
  sugar in a saucepan until the liquid turns golden brown




Immediately, pour the caramel into a pan coating the sides too

For the custard




Pour the milk into the same saucepan. Add the vanilla bean into the milk.




Heat the milk but do not bring to boil, then set aside to infuse for few minutes.






In a separate bowl beat the eggs with the sugar. Add the corn starch. 





Pour the milk over the egg mixture. 





Pour the custard carefully over the prepared pan







place the pan in a larger pan. Pour hot water into the bottom pan to come half-way up the sides. 





Bake until golden for about 45 minutes to an hour.

Allow it to cool a bit. put into the fridge for around 3 hours.

The taste of this depends in the caramel which you make..If you cook the caramel for a long time then this custard will turn bitter..So make the caramel carefully..I have given step by step pictures for you to understand clearly..I know you will surely try this today itself since it is so special..The time when you take the first bite is the melting moment of your heart..It was that good..
